Why do men chase women?
Oh, this is awful. I know better. But . . .
See DayByDayCartoon.com is pretty snarky, pitting logic and common sense against the Democratic Party nonsense. Such as portraying President Obama, and the Republican Party, as disappointing, delusional, emotionally unavailable, narcissistic bullies. Just, really affirming.
And, yet, I started going back to the first strips online, and got to April 16, 2003. Horrible, just horrible.
Sam: “So why is it guys go after so many women?”
Damon: “Sam, imagine seeing a hundred nails sticking up . . . and you’ve got the only hammer.”
Sam: “!!”
Sam: “Zed, please tell me your metaphor beats that.”
Zed: “I think Damon nailed it.”
Oh, I lost another hero.
When the mating rituals are used out of context – not with your mate – then there is no real goal. Just social recreation. How many times do you go to the park? How many times to play golf? How many partners should you look for?
Selecting a mate, a social, cultural, spiritual, economic, and legal partner that you will share legal responsibilities with – is not an act of sex. Those that look for sex partners – tend to find sex partners, not mates.
Well, maybe I can still read DayByDayCartoon.com, if I focus on the political snark, and avoid the gossip.
Shallowness like that in the cartoon is sad. Those are the men a smart woman hopes to avoid and sees the red flags fast enough to do so successfully without having been manipulated and lied to and gotten a broken heart from a player.
Loving Annie’s last blog post..In Between
Loving Annie – they fill a niche. They are what I call perpetual daters. Their life skill is winning bed partners, not making a home or being a mate.
Women uninterested in a home, looking for excitement, for sexual thrills – these guys are what make their dreams come true.
Me, I think a family and a home is a more stable goal, a healthier way to live.
