John Chow dot Com and Blue Fur Contest

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

OK. I want a hotter computer, a snazzy monitor, and money rolling in. Umm, let’s see, a car that starts every time, a dog that adores me and walks itself, three cats that don’t have kittens. A free subscription to anything at Amazon about SF or software. I think I would like a nifty place once we start planting our fannies on the moon. Three wives that respect me, and ..

Well, maybe not this week.

But about the monitor. John Chow dot Com is having a giveaway drawing with Blue Fur web hosting. This is my entry. John Chow wants to show you how to make money, Blue Fur invites you to consider how the are hosting Canada and the world, and to consider hosting with them. The prize is a brand new 24″ wide screen LCD monitor from LG Electronics. The L245WP is the latest in a string of award winning monitors from LG. The wide screen LCD features digital HDMI input, 1920×1200 resolution, 1000 to 1 contrast ratio and a fast 8ms response time.

Now pardon me as I browse around, and look for the rest of my wish list.

About ‘Hot Enough dot Org’

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

Last week Fox New showed a clip about HotEnough.org, a web site dedicated to ‘Attractive, fit singles like you’. The site requires existing members to ‘vote’ you in.

Seems like a takeoff on the old ‘Russian Brides’ scam. Remember, where the site shows a picture of a lady, you vote one to ten on how attracted you are, they promise to only introduce you to the ladies you found attractive. A fun and amusing way to pass time, and if you think about it, a way to explore what you find attractive. What I came up with was I had makeup, and find plucked eyebrows singularly significant — it means the woman considers herself a sex object, not a person. Sue me.

People magazine this week covers Jennifer Aniston and a couple of other pretty (sex object) ladies, and asks if they will ever find lasting love. Duh. When they look for men with character and avoid bozos who’s primary skill is attracting bed partners, they might be headed in a safer direction. Only they need to lose the skills of attracting men to their bed as a fundamental definition of who they are.

And the fine people frequenting HotEnough.org? I wish them well, but suspect they will find partners that they deserve.
