An OJ offensive to end the war in Iraq

The Iraqi have courts. We all saw the antics involved in trying Saddam Hussein. They are halfway there, I think, in solving all the sectarian violence.

Send the American Bar over. Draft those lawyers, send them ’support’ the poor victims over there, filing civil suit after civil suit. If what the Western movies claim is true, it was the lawyer that defeated the gunslingers to tame the west. Worked once, let’s try it again.

Instead of sending Army troops for this ’surge’ policy of President Bush’s, let’s send someone proven effective: The American Civil Attorney.

Look at all the money floating around - vehicles to burn (so to speak), automatic weapons to make the NRA cringe with jealousy, explosives, video cameras … Let everyone be free to express their religious convictions. But hold everyone to a higher court, or at least civil court, for the deaths and damage they inflict.

Bombing in Baghdad? Some cleric claims responsibility? Fine. Send him the bill for repairs, damages, and a subpoena.

Between bonds and damages, the courts should be able to do what our soldiers cannot — stop the flow of money, associate names and faces with the damages they do, and equate responsibility with actions.

Really. Pull the troops home, send lawyers under Department of Commerce direction, on detached duty.
